Who am I?

Nicole Hicks-Wedge

Preschool Music Teacher • Actress/Singer • Vocal/Performance Coach • Burlesque Educator • Choreographer • Emcee/Host

I've been a vibrant part of Spokane’s performing arts scene for over 20 years—as an actor, choreographer, performance coach, singer, and businesswoman. I’ve had the honor of performing with Spokane Children’s Theatre, Onyx Theatre, Spokane Civic Theatre, Ignite and Interplayers Theatre, and I'm forever fueled by the magic of live performance.
After a detour into retail business management and family life, I found myself in Saskatchewan, Canada, where "The Secret" sparked a transformational journey back to the stage. Singing with The Regina Lyrics Singers and performing in Musicals with Regina Lyric Musical Theatre. Inspired by a Spokane Burlesque show—I jumped into classes and the amazing and inclusive world of Burlesque in Canada and soon founded Sage Lily Burlesque Club, bringing Canadian audiences a taste of empowered, theatrical sparkle. After experiencing my own self-love renaissance, I created my own Beginner’s Burlesque classes focused on body positivity, movement exploration, joyful self-expression and building community.
For the last 5 years I've loved teaching Music Together classes, with a passion for their in-school program. My love for teaching music was a perfect transition into vocal coaching! For two years, I have helped others discover their own brave, bold voices.
Whether teaching littles, empowering adults, or curating a creative community, I strive to bring patience, warmth, structure, and fearless joy to every artistic expression.

Vocal Jubilee - Preschool & Family Music Classes

Family Music Classes

Get ready to laugh, sing, and play your way through music and movement in this joyful class designed for families with little ones ages 3mos–5yrs in this 6 week session. Together we’ll explore rhythm, melody, and motion through:

My 45min classes support early childhood development, sensory engagement, and self-expression - all in a supportive space where silliness is encouraged and giggles are guaranteed. Whether you're a toe-tapping toddler, a bouncing baby, or a grown-up ready to boogie—I can’t wait to make music and memories with you! PLEASE NOTE: This is a Family Class. Adult participation is required.

Tiny Tune Time

Looking to brighten your preschool or daycare with music, movement, and magical giggles? Tiny Tune Time is my 30min fun-filled weekly class where little ones (ages 3-5yrs) explore rhythm, instruments, scarves, ribbons—and pure happiness! We'll bring the beats and the boogies!

What if I’ve never sung before?

That’s exactly what I'm here for. NHWCE was created for everyone—from total beginners to passionate shower-singers—who want to learn, grow, and explore their voice. My singing lessons are designed to help you develop vocal confidence, discover technique step by step, and connect to the joy of sound. You don’t need to “already know how”—you just need the curiosity to try. I believe that everyone has a voice. Let’s find yours, together.

Do I need to have a music background or need to be able to read music to participate in voice lessons?

No prior music experience or sight reading skills required. Just bring your voice and your curiosity. My coaching is designed to meet you wherever you are whether you are brand new to singing, or looking to refine your technique.

Do I have to sign in front of an audience?

Nope, singing in front of an audience is always optional. My class focuses on vocal skill, self-expression and joy. Whether you are curious about performance or simply exploring for yourself, you're in full control of your journey.

Can I book a private group class?

Yes! Their is private group options for both Burlesque and Voice.

What’s your cancellation policy?

We understand that plans can change!*Cancel at least 4 days BEFORE your first class for a full refund.*Cancel within 4 days of the first class or until the second class, and a $30 cancellation fee will apply.*You may apply 100% of your paid fee as a credit toward any future class or workshop.*Absolutely no refunds will be issued after the second class of your session.*I will notify you with the contact info you provided of any session or class cancellations.*Cancellations made within 4 days of the first class or before the second class will incur a $30 cancellation fee.*Session cancellations will be fully refunded. Class cancellations will be made up with an additional class, unless a substitute is provided.

What do I wear for the burlesque class?

Wear form-fitting yoga or fitness clothes if possible—they help with movement and posture. But most importantly: Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and fabulous. Bring or wear socks you can move in. Heels or dance shoes are welcome, but not required

While traditional norms once shaped the scene, modern burlesque has evolved into a vibrant, boundary-breaking artform where people of diverse sizes, backgrounds, genders, abilities, and styles are not only welcomed, but celebrated.In spaces like mine, where empowerment, creativity, and self-expression takes center stage, burlesque becomes a tool for liberation, not just performance. Many students find deep healing and joy in reclaiming their power, re-writing beauty standards, and connecting with others in the community.

Want a special session with your favorite humans? Book a custom class for you and your crew! Perfect for birthdays, bachelorette parties, or just a fabulous night out. We'll learn basic Burlesque moves and a fun routine to bring out our inner vixen.

Burlesque Sizzle Sessions

Workshops go beyond the basics with choreography, prop play (fans, gloves, scarves!), and confidence-building that leaves you glowing from the inside out. Perfect for curious beginners, and anyone craving a bold dose of fun. 2 or 3-hour options available.
